1942 N-9M, N-9M-A and N-9M-B,(or could be two N-9M and N-9M-A or N-9M-B)

Northrop built four experimental aircraft to test the design of the Flying Wing Bomber B-35. These aircraft were constructed mainly of wood and were built at 1/3 the size of the B-35 design.

N-9M had two 260 hp Menasco C6C. N-9M-A and N-9M-B has two 300 hp 8-cyl Franklin O-540-7.

N-9M crashed on 5/19/43, killing test pilot Max Constant.

N-9M-B crash on the grounds of a state prison near the Chino Airport April 22, 2019 killing the pilot D. M. Vopat,
