AAC (American Aeronautical Corporation)

Founded in October 1928 by Enea Bossi, located at 730 Fifth Avenue in Port Washington, New York. This company build Savoia-Marchetti seaplanes under license. S-56 was issued a Approved Type Certificates (ATC 287, 2-95, 2-96, 2-332) in 1929. 36 S-56 were built. The S-56-B with a 125 hp Kinner B-5 was issued ATC 336 in 1930.

A S-56 became the first aircraft owned by the New York City Police Department. It was used to help with sea rescues and to chase rum-runners.
